Spirit Attachment: Who Is Behind The Voices

Hello, and welcome to my blog page. In this article, I'm talking about Spirit Attachments: Who's Behind The Voices.

Hearing voices can be a deeply unsettling experience. Many people who hear voices feel isolated because their experiences are often misunderstood or dismissed as imagination or mental illness alone.

What is rarely discussed is the content of what the voices say and the possibility that some experiences may stem from an external factor, such as spirits.

When spirits attach, it can create chaos in a person’s mental health, leading to confusion, distress, and a decline in well-being.

This post explores:

  • What are spirit attachments

  • Who is behind the voices

  • What are the voices saying

  • How to support your mental health

What Are Spirit Attachments?

Spirit attachments occur when an external spiritual entity or presence becomes connected to a person’s energy or consciousness. This connection can be temporary or long-lasting and may influence thoughts, emotions, and perceptions.

Unlike typical spiritual experiences, spirit attachments often bring negative or disruptive effects.

People with spirit attachments might experience:

  • Hearing voices that feel intrusive or commanding

  • Sudden mood swings or unexplained anxiety

  • Feeling drained or overwhelmed without a clear cause

  • Difficulty distinguishing between their own thoughts and external influences

These symptoms can overlap with mental health conditions, which makes understanding this experience essential for finding relief and working alongside treatment.

So, who exactly is behind the voices?

Spirit Attachment: Who Is Behind The Voices

This simple answer is spirits.

In today's modern world of science and medicine, this is not considered because it may interfere with a person's beliefs, may conclude that this is totally unrelated to hearing voices, hallucination, or not fit with religious teachings.

However, some psychologists have come across this phenomenon in their clinical work.

You may like to explore what one professional found in her book—Dr. Edith Fiore in The Unquiet Dead. In her book, she documented what she found while working with patients.

You might like to consider Jerry Marzinsky, a retired psychotherapist who talks about mental illness, schizophrenia, and psychosis. He worked in hospitals and prisons and found that voices heard by psychiatric patients often originate from external negative entities.

My experience of who's behind the voices came before reading such interesting material. My life took a sudden shift in 2022, whilst completing my hypnosis course. Although I worked with energy, cleared homes, and moved spirits to the light, I wasn't prepared for what was to come.

What Voices Are Saying

One of the most overlooked aspects of hearing voices is what the voices actually say!

It's almost taboo not to talk about what you're hearing; it's only rubbish and has no meaning to it.

As a result, many dismiss the voices as meaningless or random; however, in many cases of spirit attachments, the voices often carry specific messages or intentions. In my own experience, the voices had clear, direct intentions and instructions, and the spirits involved totally disregarded the effect this was having on me.

I documented everything from the transition to loud negative thoughts that turned into voices with different personalities, and I could see in my mind's eye images of what they looked like. What they said and what I saw followed the same patterns.

I've listed some of them here:

  • The voices can be full-on, from giving you warnings or threats

  • They often make confusing or manipulative statements, or sustained acts of inappropriate behaviour.

  • You might hear voices telling you that you are worthless or urging you to take harmful actions. These messages can erode self-esteem and increase feelings of despair.

  • The voices' chatter, which lasts for a long period of time, and ca be non-stop, loud, intense, and intrusive.

  • During an episode, you are reminded of times or a traumatic event that happened in the past, that you had worked through, suppressed, or forgotten, but the negative voices bring this up, evoking guilt, sadness, or fear in you.

  • The voices may ask you to do something that you don't want to do, such as remove your clothes to shame you in front of others, or coerce you into sexual activities.

  • Suggest inappropriate actions to do to those around you.

  • The voices may instruct you to eat certain foods or drink, and threaten you if you don't go along with these desires.

  • One or more of the voices may inflict physical pain on a part of your body. Punish you, threaten you, because they are angry with you.

  • The voices can show you either in your mind's eye or in a physical manifestation of a phobia you have a fear of.

From my own experience and listening to others, I've had no choice but to recognize that these voices are not simply “in the mind” but come from an external source, and this can change how we approach treatment and support.

What Others Have Experienced

One woman began hearing voices after a traumatic event. The voices were aggressive and persistent, telling her she was in danger and that no one could help. Over time, her mental health declined, and she withdrew from friends and family.

After exploring spiritual causes, she worked with a practitioner experienced in spirit release techniques. This approach helped her regain control and reduce the voices’ influence.

Another example involves a man who experienced voices that contradicted his own thoughts, causing confusion and distress. He initially sought psychiatric help and was prescribed medication, which helped somewhat but did not stop the voices.

When he addressed the possibility of spirit attachment through spiritual counseling, he found additional relief and a better understanding of his experience.

How To Support Your Mental Health

The presence of spirit attachment can create havoc in a person’s mental health.

The constant internal conflict between your own thoughts and the intrusive voices can lead to:

  • Increased anxiety and paranoia

  • Depression and feelings of hopelessness

  • Social withdrawal due to fear of judgment

  • Difficulty concentrating or making decisions

This decline in mental health often worsens if the person feels misunderstood or stigmatized. Without proper support, the impact can become severe, affecting daily functioning and quality of life.

If you or someone you know hears voices that feel external or disruptive, consider these steps:

  • Seek professional mental health support to rule out or address medical conditions.

  • Explore spiritual counseling or energy healing with practitioners experienced in spirit attachments.

  • Keep a journal of what the voices say to identify patterns or triggers.

  • Build a support network of trusted friends, family, or support groups who understand these experiences.

  • Practice grounding techniques such as meditation, deep breathing, or Reiki, and spend time in nature to strengthen personal boundaries.

Combining mental health care with spiritual support can provide a more comprehensive approach to healing.

I aim to help those who are going through this and those who know someone battling this kind of experience.

People who hear voices often face stigma and misunderstanding. Recognizing that these voices come from spirit attachments helps shift the conversation from judgment to compassion. It also opens new pathways for treatment that respect both psychological and spiritual dimensions.

If you experience voices, remember you are not alone, and your experience is valid.

Seeking help and exploring all possible causes can lead to better mental health and peace of mind.
